Welcome to the web sight of the Castleford & District British Motorcycle Club. The club was founded in 1981 by Jim Wilde and Earnest Rhodes for anyone who owns or has an interest in BRITISH MOTORCYCLES. We like to think we are a friendly club promoting the restoration and riding of all things British. The club night is the first Wednesday in the month at the Britt Pub on Lock Lane in Castleford, West Yorkshire. Members start to gather at about 8.00pm and visitors are always welcome. Some nights are pint and natter nights but we do have organised evenings with quizzes being popular, an Auction night in March (you bring it we sell it! 10% goes to the club funds). In May we have our short shake down run for bikes that have been of the road through the winter or for machines that have been rebuilt. Concours night is held at the June club night whatever the weather. .
Whats going on...

There are many different things going on within the club!

On a Sunday early in September we have our Classic Motorcycle show the Cavalcade. This event is held at the Havercroft & Ryhill Youth and Sports Centre near Nostell Priory. The Cavalcade is one of the biggest and best club shows in the North of England. If you like British Bikes you will love this event with a wide range of excellent machinery on show.

We have a strong group of members who get to all the shows and rallies in the area. They are out every weekend when there is an event to visit. Derek Mann our Rally Secretary got to nearly 60 shows and rallies in a year!! But that is not compulsory you only have to go to events if and when it suits you. We have two special runs per year that are for British Bikes only. They are the Earnest Rhodes Memorial Run, which takes place on the first Sunday in May and is always through the Dales that he loved so much by a scenic route to Malham where we stop for lunch and then home again by a different scenic route. The other is the Presidents Run. Where this goes and what time of the year it takes place is entirely up to the President but typically it will be a round trip of about 150 miles. The destination being any place that the current President thinks might interest club members. So if you have an interest in or you own a Brit Bike regardless of its make or age come on down and pay us a visit. We will be pleased to see you. You never know you might like us enough to join our club.
